Separate eligibility from provider acceptance
There are two different questions: whether the person qualifies for Washington long-term services and supports, and whether a particular adult family home accepts the applicable Medicaid arrangement. A yes to one does not automatically answer the other.
Eligibility can involve financial criteria and an assessment of care needs. The Washington Health Care Authority and Department of Social and Health Services publish the current application and program information; use those official sources for a determination.
Ask what Medicaid covers and what it does not
Ask the home to explain which services are covered, what the resident may still owe, whether room and board is handled separately, and what documentation is needed. Do not rely on a directory badge or a general statement that a home accepts Medicaid.
